How iMart collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information.
1. About this policy
iMart respects privacy and handles personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law. This policy explains the kinds of information iMart collects and holds, how that information is used and disclosed, and how a person may request access, correction or assistance with a privacy concern.
2. Information collected
iMart may collect information that users provide, information generated through marketplace activity and limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service. Identity, date of birth, contact, profile and account information. Creator store, product, tax-status and verification information. Purchase, sale, fee, refund, dispute, payout and invoice records. Reviews, creator replies, support requests, uploaded files and moderation records. Device, session, security, diagnostic and consent information actually generated by the service.
3. How information is collected
Information may be collected directly from users, generated when they use iMart, received from payment and identity-verification providers, or supplied by another user as part of a transaction, review, report or support request. iMart should collect only information reasonably needed for an identified purpose.
4. Purposes of use
iMart may use information to provide accounts and marketplace features, identify sellers, facilitate creator-specific payments, deliver purchases, calculate fees, prevent fraud, moderate content, answer support requests, keep records, comply with law and improve reliability. Marketing use must follow applicable consent and communication rules.
5. Public and transaction information
Store names, profile images, biographies, products, ratings and published reviews may be public. Buyers and creators may receive the limited information needed for their transaction and support obligations. Full card, bank, identity-document, private email and phone details must not be publicly displayed unless the person deliberately publishes information through an appropriate field.
6. Service providers and disclosures
iMart may disclose relevant information to payment and identity-verification providers such as Stripe, and to providers that support infrastructure, email, security and professional services. Information may also be disclosed where required or authorised by law. Some providers may process information outside Australia, and iMart will take reasonable steps required by applicable law when arranging those disclosures.
7. Security and data incidents
iMart will use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and service, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, monitoring and restricted handling of payment information. No system is completely secure. Suspected eligible data breaches will be assessed and notified as required by law.
8. Retention and deletion
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably required to provide the marketplace, maintain transaction and tax records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations. Closing an account does not require iMart to erase information that must be retained or that is reasonably needed for an unresolved transaction, claim or security purpose.
9. Access, correction and complaints
A person may request access to or correction of personal information held by iMart, subject to lawful exceptions, and may make a privacy complaint through the support channel. iMart may verify identity before acting on a request and will explain any lawful reason for refusing access or correction.
